WELCOME!

I am a theatre educator who uses the arts as a medium for cultural awareness and inclusion.

The places I've been and the people I've met have shaped me into the educator I am.

New York

In 2019 I attended a summer internship at the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts. It was there that I began to craft a classroom culture of training with care. In the chilly canopy of Catskill mountains, I had the opportunity to teach technical theatre, scenic design, and scenic painting to students for 13 weeks.  We created scenic elements for 36 shows together, and I was able to teach the true power of teamwork.

Arkansas

I have always had a passion for the arts and education. When I attended undergrad, I took an interdisciplinary approach that led me to complete dual degree programs in theatre and music with minors in psychology and education.

Interdisciplinary discourse guides my classroom instruction by leading students to find subjects that align with their passions and look at situations from varied perspectives. I was led to pursue graduate school at the University of Arkansas. After a successful 1st year in an MFA in Theatre program, I found myself searching for opportunities within the classroom.

Maine

This camp counselor job allowed me to juggle artistic and professional responsibilities in ways that bolster classroom experiences. During a 12-week residency at Kingsley Pines Camp, I was allowed to develop my mentorship and begin crafting the kind of educator I wanted to become. This job taught me the true meaning of "20-year memories" and challenged me never to stop growing and accepting my novice teaching approaches.

After a successful year, I transferred graduate programs to bring my artistic background into the classroom and build a bridge for creative and academic discourse.
